I'm a new Mustang owner and got a 2020 GT. I was wondering if you guys had any advice on maintenance as far as oil changes and such. Also, there's a feature where if you give it good floor on the gas, then itll drop to the lowest gear possible. What is that called? And is most likely used for roll racing?

 

Welcome. That feature is called an automatic transmission. They all do that. I would just let the oil life service reminder tell you when to change the oil. You will get all kind of responses on oil changes from the oil school and wasteful every 3K miles to 7 or 10K miles. Modern oils are pretty reliable. Don't waste your money.

 

Thank you! I've been seeing a lot of people say to change it around 5k, but my oil life is barely at 50% hence the question. Also, regarding the automotive transmission I just found it cool that it holds the gear at the highest RPM possible. I guess I should have included that as well

 

That new 10 speed is a really good transmission. You will love it.
