I just got my first Ford product. It is a 1978 Mustang 2 + 2 (I think). It has the 302 with a C4 transmissionThe floor shifter is really sloppy. You can move from park down to drive without pushing the lockout button. So I bought a B&M EZ Gate shifter to lock out all the gears and make the interior look better. My mechanic said that this will not fit without cutting the console. I'd rather not cut unless I have to. Does anyone know of a Hurst shifter or something that will fit and provide clean positive shifts? Any help would be greatly appreciatted.
