Hi everyone. I just purchased an 86 GT hardtop. It's my first Mustang, can't wait to start modding it. Can anyone point me to info, user guides, online manuals, DIYs or any other info for an 86 GT?

Edit: Also a real noob question. Is this generation of mustang called a T-5? I am brand new to the world of mustangs.

 

no it is a foxbody or "fox" for short. 1979-1993 are all foxbodies

t5 refers to the manual 5-speed. the automatic is an AOD

it is a borg-warner t5 transmission.

hmmmm...useful info?? can't think of any offhand....just read up in the tech forums of this site and other stang sites.

welcome! I suggest asking questions over in the 5.0 section and reading other responses... that's how I've learned everything i know about my car.

There are probably a lot of good info sites about your model year, and some 5.0 owners would be glad to help you with that.
