Default Have problems, looking for help

Hello all. Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section, but I've been having some slight issues with my 99 GT recently. I take my car to the Valvoline Instant Oil Change places to get my oil changed. The previous 5, I've had no issues with my oil changes, just standard 5w-20 Synthetic. Last week after taking it to the VIOC on the way home, the slip said it had an engine knock and that it had a bad oil leak. The gentleman didn't say anything about a knock, just about the oil leak. I have noticed at times when I first start the car, it has a rattling that goes away after about 5-10 seconds (not exhaust, sounds like it's up top under the hood). Also, while driving or coming to an idle, it makes a sound like a loud vacuum leak coming from the left side around the firewall. The last issue I have is when I am at an idle after driving the car to where it's warmed up, the oil pressure gauge drops down to nothing until you hit the gas. I can't afford to buy another car, so I am looking for any suggestions anyone might have or a decent mechanic in the Columbus area that is reasonable. I had a place I was using for repairs but I was told by one of the mechanics they don't like working on american engines.

I'm not in the Columbus area so I can't suggest a place to take this to. Warning you need to have this looked at SOON. synthetic oils some times will hide the warning noises of lower end problems (cranksaft/main/rod bearings) going bad.

I personally hate those quick oil change places, over priced and has a bad rep for doing half-azz jobs. Depending on where you are located, I found a mechanic that was honest and communicated with me very well on issues I was having with my car. Place is called One Call Auto Mechanic (614) 848-9666, if you want to give him a try. I didn't take my Mustang there, but he did have a ton of different cars at his shop. Guy's name is Matt

That's where I was going. He fixed my shifter cable, fuel filter and found a problem with a coil pack before. I agree, he was very honest and didn't overcharge me, was just thrown off by one of the mechanics comments when I called last fall about getting some work done.
