What brand oil is the best for my 02 Stang?
02 mustang GT, 4.6 ltr. I used mobil clean 5000 on my last oil change...But i was wondering why it's a buck cheaper than all your oils like penzoil, Castrol GTX, Quaker state. Is Mobil clean 5000 a cheap oil? Should i use fully synthetic? What about royal purple oil? And last but not least....Do you think it would be a good idea to put 4 quarts regular oil ( Castrol GTX 5-20) mixed with 1 qt of lucas oil stabilizer? Just wondering what you think....Thanks.
i always used 5qts motorcraft synthetic blend...thats what it calls for, so thats what i used....
i dont believe a NA 2v motor needs anything more than that...some people use full synthetic, but i see it as a waste of cash for a stock 2v
dont use RP...if you feel the need to use full synthetic, amsoil is the best out there

Love my amsoil. my stock 4.6 2v that has 158.000 miles runs like new and and it acidently seen 7100 rpm wihtout breaking it(lucky day forgot my cruise control was on)
Also the best mpg i got was 27mpg on a 600mile stretch going home. Otherwise i like mobil1. But its all in what you like. The only thing i dont like bout penzoil is the white resedue it leaves on the oil fill cap due to the wax based oil.

but mobil1 is good enough right? so is any other oil...
this isnt a high performance racing engine or anything, it doesnt spin to 9k or have forced induction...
to each their own i guess, its not my money thats being thrown out...just remind me of all the people who run 93 octane in stock mustangs...it says premium so it must be better
if youre changing your oil every 3-5k like reccomended, its not going to matter what oil you run..as long as its the right weight
