Hello all, I was wodering if anyone is using synthetic oil and is worth the money.

yes and yes

been using it since about 1996 or so

i can tell you right now that the color of the oil at 5000 miles is like the color of conventional oil at 3000 miles..... syn is still goldish at 3k

so yeah it works

worth the money ??? not much diff in price really

go to walmart and get the 5 qt jug for $24, cant beat that except

when o'reillys has the special , 5 qts + a mobil 1 filter for $17.99

If you run your interval longer, then your cost per oil change essentially goes down.

If you plan to change your oil at 3-5K miles, synthetics aren't really worth the money. If you take advantage of the extended drain intervals from 7500 miles up to 25000 miles (Amsoil SSO) then yes, they make oil changes much cheaper in the long run.
