Default tires for stock rims.

i really haven't been impressed with the dry traction with the stock pirelli tires on my 06 GT. looking to upgrade, but not really familiar with what tires will fit on the stock 17's.

looking at falken azenis rt-615's.

i'm pretty sure the 275/40R17 won't fit, but will the 255/40R17 fit?

pretty much i'm looking to squeeze the widest tire possible on the stock size wheels. if you run soloII in a stock class, you know what i'm looking for here.

any help would be appreciated.

i havent ran in a auto-x solo comp yet but i have gone with a couple of my friends and they run the falkens and they are some of the best out there. but i have done some hard street driving with the khumo escta 712 tires they are very sticky and they will last for a while.

If you go and look on the Hoosier website, look under discontinued styles, they have a huge sale going. That is if your not using street tires when you run. I would personally recommend the BFG's KDWs. Little interesting of a tire i know but the wet and dry traction are great. I ran with the for about a year. The only reason im not anymore is because I dont have enough gear to turn over the 17's quick enough, so im using stock 15's with BFG G-Force Sports. They are also very good. But if you want race rubber go to the Hoosier website.
