Default What does it mean by F1 car racing and what are its specialities ?

earllier, there were no formiulas as such. the governing body of the race was calle GARD PRIX MOTOR RACING till about 1920. then anyone could build high perfomance cars according to some setof rules and race in the track

later after ww2, the rules for manufacture of rece car was defined well and these set of rules was called the formula

formula 1 can be called the set of rules that give the most speed, performance and most importantly, safety
there are many other formulas such as formula 3, etc...

Formula One, abbreviated to F1, is the highest class of open wheeled auto racing defined by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motorsport's world governing body. The F1 world championship season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix, held usually on purpose-built circuits, and in a few cases on closed city streets, the most famous of which is the Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo. The results of each race are combined to determine two annual World Championships, one for drivers and one for constructors.

The performance of the cars is highly dependent on electronics, aerodynamics, suspension and tyres. The engine and transmission of a modern Formula One car are some of the most highly stressed pieces of machinery on the planet.

the FORMULA clearly define rules for body dimension, weight, structure, wing design, engine specification in capacity, electronic aids to the driver, most impotrant safety and so many othe raspects

these rules are subject to change each season(spanning a whole year comprising of 18 races). and the rules are decided by FIA.

I take it English is not your first language?

Yes, Formula One racing has changed considerably over the years since it's beginnings.

The most significant change has to be the costs associated with the technology.

Early cars were very basic open wheel cars, an engine and gearbox, a very rudimentary chassis, simple suspension and tires, and the driver. Thousands of dollars for each car. And it was almost purely about the driver.

And it was anybody's guess who would win any given Grand Prix.

Today's cars are technological marvels. Carbon fiber everything, electronic controls, telemetry, and a driver. And today the driver steers the car, and not much else. Traction control, launch control, throttle, shifting and braking limited and controlled by the ecm. Millions of dollars for each car. Now it is almost purely about the ecm.

And one "team" usually dominates the entire season.

Yawn.

Exactly.

How about Jimmy Johnson and the Chase For The Cup this year? Now there was some competition!

And number 5 for Jimmy. 2 more and he will be tied with the King and The Intimidator for all time Championships, and one more than that and he will need to get himself a nickname.

Yeah thats are bunch of BS. All his "championships" show is that he can perform only for ten races and not a full season. If they would have continued with the old style points system and counted all 36 races he would have only won TWO championships, and one of those years he "won" he would of actually finished fifth.

He plays the current points system better than anyone else, good for him. Who's to say he wouldn't win five in a row with the old system? Today's championship is setup to reward the final 10 races, yes. But who's to say that Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus wouldn't play the regular season in the same fashion that they have played the chase the past five seasons.
