I BOUGHT A BASSANI X-PIPE WITH CATS FROM HIM AND PAYPALED THE MONEY IMMEDIATELY. EVERYTHING WAS GOING GOOD, GOOD COMMUNICATION AND THE LAST EMAIL I GOT WAS OCTOBER 14 STATEING THAT IT WAS SHIPPED FROM MODESTO,CA

WELL I HAVENT SEEN IT OR HE HASNT REPLIED BACK TO ANY OF MY EMAILS SO I CONTACT EBAY AND THEY SAY HERE IS HIS NUMBER

WELL HE HAS BEEN USING A CHIROPRACTIC CENTER AS HIS NUMBER WITH THE SAME LAST NAME JUST ANDERSON (SOMETIMES I WONDER IF EBAY EVEN CHECKS PHONE NUMBERS)

WELL PAYPAL IS USELESS BECAUSE I DONT KNOW HOW THEY CAN TAKE SOMEONES CARD AND BANK ACCT NUMBER BUT NOT BE ABLE TO TRACK HIM DOWN.

ANYWAYS JUST A WARNING.

 

If you used a bank credit card to make payment through Paypal can't you make a claim and dispute the charge or do you throw that right to do so away the minute you use Paypal? They really suck like that. Did the guy have a good rep at eBay? Doesn't sound like it.

 

pay pal will help you get it back. they will take the money back from the guy and give it to you if it isnt resolved.

 

Paypal can put a hold for the amount of money involved until their investigation is complete. I'm pretty certain they can only refund money that's either already present in the account or on any future monies deposited there. I don't believe Paypal can suck money from the guy's bank account if his paypal balance is zero though. In other words, if the guy doesn't have any cash there they can't get anything. Scammers find a way to just open up a new Paypal accounts and do the same thing over and over again.

 

did you pay with a direct transfer or with a credit or debit card?

the cards, even through paypal should have fraud protection.

 

i may be wrong but i think paypal buyer protection is only in effect if you pay with a direct transfer with your bank account and the total does not exceed $1000. i dont think they cover you if you pay via credit card. what kind of feedback did the guy have?

i don't mean the paypal protection. i mean the cards themselves, VISA, MASTERCARD

 

I would not trust paypal to do any thing besides try to take every ones money, they may after about a year or so respound to your claim. best bet is to call your bank/credit card, or if need be the cops do look down people for interenet theift.

 

personally i have found paypal to be very helpful. I do belive they offer some sort of protection though. Call an talk to a representative, they are very knowledgeable about the subject. I am sure this happens all the time, so i would just call em up and explain

 

I have been an ebay member for 6 years. One time this lady tried to pull the same crap. I called the sheriff in her home town and filed a report for mail fraud. The sheriff went to her house and within 5 days I had my item (after her ignoring me for a month)

Email the guy and said you spoke to detective so and so and he is working your mail fraud case. 99% this will scare them before you even have to really file it
