i was just looking at a turbonetics kit, its a used one, and its only a single exhaust! can you have a true dual exhaust with a turbo? or does that call for a twin turbo?

Single turbo you "Cannot" have a TRUE dual. You could Y-Split it once off the turbo. If you want true duals still you have to do a Twin setup. The reason is, if you run a single both exhaust manifold have to feed into the one turbo therefore not giving you true duals. Whereas if you have a twin you run one manifold to one and the other to the other turbo and just keep the down pipes as seperate piping. You'll find that most kits for our cars are gonna be single turbo kits. The allow you to have better power increases. The down side is a little more turbo lag. But if you get a properly sized turbo for the application your running you shouldn't have a problem with that. It's all an opinion thing, some like twins because they think it spools faster and you can obtain the same power increase, some like the single because they think the single can get more power and there is one less turbo you have to worry about breaking plus you have to remember with a twin you have to tap two feed lines in your oil system.
But like I said it's all opinion. I like the single because I personally think that with turbo's your gonna have lag regardless and if you think about it, 8 cyls going into one turbo should spin the impeller just as fast as 4 cyl pushing a single small turbo on both sides. Plus singles give you more power. Why do you think most top fuel and funny cars run a single. Plus as much as I hate to mention it, Supras. When they want to get into the serious power the switch over to a big single.
Just some food for thought. Good luck with whatever you do.

Don't mean to steal your thread but, FoxRod I bought a hp turbo kit but have not put it on yet cuz i only ordered the hot pipe kit but i was wondering how the ceramic coating is holding up for you, cuz the more i learn about turbo kits im kinda wishing that i got stainless like hellion cuz im worried about the ceramic. Also how long did your stock trans hold i mean if u have a 5-speed

Ceramic is the only way I would go. The Jet-Hott coating is the best out right now and I think they say that it reduces 40% or more of the heat from the piping. With a turbo car running hot already anything that will help keep it cool is a plus the way I see it. I love my setup. The ceramic coating gives it a nice silvery color and matches well with engine compartment accesories (although my are all stained up). My tranny is still holding (still have the stock one in) The clutch slips a little but not too bad. The tranny did just start making a whining noise so I might need to have to re-build this one or perhaps get a better one soon.
And Zoie_daGT thanx for the compliment.
