Default Supercharger Mods

Noob here... Well at least to the forums. I've got an 86 GT convert. with minor mods, CAI, shorties, X-pipe, mass air converison, exhaust, pullies, etc. and just baought a 5 psi Vortyech supercharger. I bought a 190 lph pump, a fuel regulator as well.

The engine has 60,000 miles on it and I heard I should replace the fuel rails, alternator, and injectors, in which case I'd need to get a different plate in the FMU.

Any thoughts on what I need to, or should do?

grab a c&l MAF and a set of 24# injectors and you will be all set. you dont have to swap the fuel rails (assuming its the same 86-88 as they are in 89-93) but even if you do have to swap it... just get one from a 89-93 fox

Thanks for the input and I've been kicking aound doing the 73 MM c&l, but was going to a 65mm BBK throttle body and EGR as well.

Think that's necessary? Someone told me the fuel rails were a good idea for down the road, and the new plate would the FMU or a new burned chip for the computer was mandatory for the 24lb. injectors.

not true... with a c&l you can change out the "sample tubes" that are in the sensor itself and change the injectors without modding the ECU... of course... getting a chip burned isnt a bad idea.. especially on boost

Let me get this straight. If I go with a 73 MM C&L and change the "sample" tube to the appropriate size for the injectors, I don't necessarily need to do a burned chip or new plate in the FMU?

Gotcha and any recommemdations on what you think the best route would be to go to get it tuned? Would it be a matter of bringing it to my mechanic or is there a company that could burn me a chip based on the set up I have.

Thanks for your help.

Its all in the tune. Your going to need bigger than 24lb injectors if your S/Cing, I would go with either 30s or 36's.

I would also go with a bigger Maf 76mm or higher, and for sure tune.

Makes sense and that's what I'll do. I installed Kenny Brown subframe connectors, an ADDCO beefed up ant-rollsway bar, got new tires, and will be getting Koni front struts, rear shocks, a BBK caster/cambor kit, so she should handle/hook up much better. I also put 355 Gears in, which gets her out of the hole.

I'll make a point of getting the MAF, throttle body, injectors, supercharger installed, and let you know what the difference is like. I gotta get pix of the car up too. It's a tight ride.
