I have a 2001gt (auto) was thinking of getting a crate motor but after reading all these forums i was thinking S/C the only problem is i have 70k on the motor and didnt think a S/C would be a good thing on a 70k motor. has anyone put a S/C on a motor with high miles and had it last ?

i always wanted a vortech/with cooler but i see people here talking about others that they like better so confused[&:] i talked my wife into a new car srt8 charger because it is 4 door (kids) but would realy like to stay with stang my problem is id want a saleen S/C or gt 500 saleen cost to much 55-60 gt500 cant get i just dont think its worth tradeing a gt for a gt my wife wants me to get another gt 2006 what do you think 2006gt / 2001 with 70k and S/C / 2006srt8 thank you all for you input #17 ford racing

day dark is that your s281 saleen? if so is it S/C there is a dealer by me with one i think there asking 42k but its not S/Ced i was woundering if its worth the 14k over the gt if its not S/Ced ? i realy like the saleen because there isnt many on the road like the GT just worred im getting riped off for 30ex hp over the gt please let me know how you like it and if you have any regrets not getting the S/Ced one. I know you can always ad it but for me it would be after the warranty was up and then id be in the same boat like with my 2001gt with 70k but id like to know your input on the s281 compared to the gt .thanks for your time and very nice car

 

Yes it's the N/A one. I don't have any regrets because I made a vow to myself over 8 years ago that I'd own a Mustang Saleen one day and I saved and saved and finally bought it. Is it much faster than a regular GT? Nah, not at all (if any). But would is it worth the extra $? To me, yes, I've always wanted a Saleen. But practically, nah, it probably isn't worth $16k+ for wheels and tires, short throw, underdrive pullies, suspension, a body kit and othe misc. odds and ends, unless you truly want a Saleen just because it's a Saleen. If you want a fast car, buy a GT and put the extra $ into modding the hell out of it.

 

thanks daydark i still think the saleen looks beter i just think for that much more money it should stand out more in the hp side. you helped alot, my problem is i have 2 kids and im suprized my wife gave into me getting another new car she thinks i want the superbee charger when it comes out i told here around 40k my point is i think i only have one shot at this so what ever i choose it would probebly be it if you know what i mean (no mods)[:'(] at least for a while well im off to bring my 2001gt in for a window and a/c problem again so i will look at the gt again who knows but when i give in i will post pic . thank again for your help be safe[sm=icon_cheers.gif]
