For the longest time I thought I wanted an X-pipe but then someone told me the diffrents in sound and so I went with the H-pipe. If you want a deep muscle car sound go with the H-pipe. I hate the way an X-pipe sounds like so I'm one sided on this one. A guy I my club has Flow's with an o/r X and I think it sound's like crap! Sound clips may help you but the best is to hear it in person. I'm lucky b/c there are a lot of diffrent exhaust set up's in my club so I was able to hear alot of set up's to help me pick the best sounding exhaust for me.

that's one of the worst combinations you can get. you got a bad first impression. catted Xs sound a lot better than o/r. they don't crackle and have a nice deep grumble. my LM1s sounded hot with my X, but my LM2s sound even better.

I don't like rasp or pop so I went with a catted-X. I chose the X for performance so maybe I am coming from a different perspective.

first thing you need to decide is if you want cats or o/r... if where you live requires you to pass emissions tests then you should get cats b/c with o/r you will not pass. next thing you need to decide is h or x... h will give you a slightly deeper sound but x will give you a little more horsepower.. You should also check around to listen to sound clips so at least you have an idea of what each would sound like.. you can check mustangexhaust.com for some sound clips....I personally have o/r x-pipes but I dont have flowmasters so I don't know how that would sound.... good luck.

Well.. technically everywhere is "suppose" to have cats on .. thats why the midpipes with out the cats are called off road pipes.. becasue you are only suppose to use them in an off road situation like at the track... but really who does what they are suppose to do anyway.. You should find out for sure if you need to take your car in for emissions testing or not... if not then go with the o/r pipes as they sound better and give you a couple of extra hp.. if you do have to pass emissions then just get the pipes that have the cats on.. no biggie. (just keep in mind that if you get the o/r pipe then you will also need to get mil eliminators)

I have o/r X-pipe from uprproducts.com and I love it. If you like bassni I am sure that you can mix/match without a problem..

hope this helps.. good luck.
