X-Pipe
I currently have a 1998 GT with Borla cat back and soon I'm going to purchase a X pipe. Does anybody know if any brand would sound good with the Borla? I know this is a stupid question but off road means no cats right? cause i hate cats.. also with an X pipe what are my chances of passing emissions?
If you have an O/R without cats, yes that's right, then you won't pass emisions. I don't know what state you're from but some actually test your exhaust while others just look for the cats. Either way if you're going to a shop that cares you're not gonna pass. Just get a reputable brand and it will fit fine, all the flanges are the same. Plus if you consider that you can replace any piece of your stock exhuast with an aftermarket and it will fit you don't have to worry about crossing different brands cause they're all made to fit in the stock positions unless otherwise noted.
i have the pypes o/r x pipe and i love it, as far as the no cats go to a local inspection station and ask how they test emission on newer cars with obdII comps, in my area they test emissions thru the obdII so with the mil eliminators i should be alright, but i have a friend with his own station so i should be alright
You'll never pass. lol. Unless the people who own the gas station are not from the united states. I just bought a UPR o/r X-pipe for 139.99. It fits great. I had to heat up one part of my pipe and put a dimple in it. But thats it. Also it doesnt matter who you buy the pipe from, they are all the same. Some might last longer than others. Some are one piece, some are 2-3 piece pipes. And yeah, Borla doesnt sound good. I'd stick to Flowmaster or Magnaflow
