SC Trim
Yea, that doesnt seem like a bad idea though, because if I can get the head unit, brackets, etc. used than I might be able to upgrade to something a little nicer.... maybe! but Im still limited to what I can do.
Also, how bad do you think it would be to run 4.10's w/ a blower? Do you think thats a mistake?
I am asking because I am buying gears within the next few days and Im trying to look ahead a little bit because I definetly do not want to install 4.10's and than have to pull them out for 3.73's or something like that. Why doesnt anyone run a steep gear like that w/ a blower? BTW, its automatic so thats the main reason why I wanted 4.10's. Any comments?

I would choose the Novi 1000 over the Vortech SC trim. The Novi 1000 can be used with the Vortech Renegade 8" crank pulley to get an extra ~5psi without changing blower pulley and thus voiding the warranty. The SC trim is a different rib belt and will only work if you like running a larger crank pulley with a smaller belt.
I know that it would be a better choice w/ the 3.73's but it just sucks because I am very very very broke right now after just buying this car and I will not be able to get a blower for a while. In the mean time, I want something thats going to be quick and 3.73's are just not going to cut it for a bone stock automatic 5.0 ya know. I guess I will just have to make my decidion within the next few days.
OK well I guess I am going to go w/ the 3.73's because I definetly plan on getting a charger ASAP (may be about 6 months or so). Now back to blower talk. Also, I did not mention. I DO want a loud blower; arent Vortechs notorious for this? Also, how loud are the Novi 1000's? Anyone have a sound clip?
So FullAuto... the rating on the 1000's are what? prob 5-7psi? and w. the renegade crank pulley I will be able to bump it to 10-12? I definetly want to run maximum boost but just as long as it will be safe on the motor w/ a good tune which I am sure will not be a problem. Anyone have any comments/suggestions?
P.S. Sorry for asking to many Q's. I just want to gain some knowledge in this before I go off buying anything. Thanks fellas.

Boost is just a measure of restriction. It will vary depending on your mods. With the crank pulley you should have no problem making 10psi on a stock motor. Go with the crank pulley and a powerpipe and you'll have it up to 11-12psi and still have the warranty.. You could just change blower pulleys on either blower. It is cheaper to do that but it voids your warranty. I just like the Novi 1k over the SC trim because they are both the entry level cheaper blowers and I'm not a fan of voiding the warranty on day 1. And 5-6psi SUCKS! The Novi is also 8 rib instead of 6 rib which is better. So you can have the cheaper blower (compared to an S trim or Novi 2k) make ~11-12 psi with the pulley and powerpipe, and still have a factory 3 year warranty. There is nothing wrong with an SC trim though.
They are both great blowers and equally reliable. The V1 impeller is considered to be loud. There are mixed opinions about the Novi. Mine isn't as loud as a V1 Vortech, but it is audible. Mine gets a lot louder when you're on it. I'm not sure the sound alone should be a deciding issue. You'll be happy with either blower. It's mainly personal opinion. I just personally like the Voretch crank pulley trick for the Novi to get the extra boost and keep the warranty. That's really the only reason I'd choose it over the SC trim. The wider belt is nicer too.
Oh no I am definetly not deciding the blower over the sound. Now I stepped into my next problem... a stock AOD transmission w/ the blower. Do you think theres any possible way to use it w/out rebuilding it, etc.?
I was looking at new trans's already and if I do go w/ a new one I will go with a Lentech Street Bruiser good for 500hp. That should be more than enough for what I am doing. But its going to take me a while to save up for the blower let alone the trans.... money money money money. I need a 2nd Job!
