Default SC question

supercharger questions are all over these forums but i can't quite find what im looking for, my 95 GT has about 141k miles on her, never ran at a track. Iv'e done small upgrades since iv'e had her like, full exhaust, better spark plugs, wires, cold air but nothing to the engine itself, would it be a bad move to add a supercharger? Iv'e read many forums including the great detailed supercharger article at the top of this forum. I understand its all about the fuel, tune and how i drive but, would adding this at 140,000 miles just push my *poor* *stock* 5.0 into the grave? I have another engine being built but this engine will just be swapped to another vehicle if it can take the SC because im turning my stang into a drag only. Any suggestions or comments greatly accepted. Thank you

your car should be fine as long as it was maintained over the years. people have added blowers and nitrous to 96+ GTs with over 100k miles and had no problems. them 5.0 engines last a lot longer than the 4.6.

yea, its been in perfect shape, it still has orginal paint without any road marks on it. Never ran at a track, only time it has ever seen over 100 is with me driving it the last 6months. it was owned by a family friend who drove it alot but never for more then 30minutes to one place(babied basicly) So you think it would be fine? my other engine that is being built is a 347stroker+ a grady turbo(my goal is under 11 's with a small block without breaking the bank)

*damn typos

Call me biased but they have been around longer so it really seems more likely that they could meet higher mileage averages. I instantly fell in love with the 5.0's which is what pushed me to Mustangs. I am not trying to knock the 5.0's but I cannot sit bye while someone insults the 4.6

well, there's been more than enough time for 96GTs to hit 200k miles, but i haven't seen any. i have yet to see any over 200k. that doesn't mean they don't exist, but i just haven't heard or seen it. i see 93 and older GTs with almost 300k miles on them being sold that are still running strong.

And thats true, their is guy in our local Mustang club that didn't replace his 5.0 until it hit 230+, it was running strong but he put in a 351 Windsor.
