Default Mid length headers

I can't get longtube since i live in a city that has fallen in love with speed bumps. That leaves either shorties or midlenth headers. My question is whether i will be able to use the same mid pipe whether i go with mid length or shorties. Also what brands should I look into for headers?

BBK, MAC....JBA makes some good stuff.

I would go with a new midpipe...better performance.
