If you want LOUD, then just install long tube headers and an X-pipe with no mufflers...that would be pretty damn loud. If you want LEGALLY loud, then consider Dynomax race bullets. They're straight thru mufflers so no restriction and they only cost about $35 at Summit Racing.

 

Im assuming this is pretty much a daily driven car? If it is, trust me this will be cool for about a week.

 

USAMuscle are you pretty sure that the Dynomax bullets are legal. I was looking at getting SLP, but I already have an exhaust system from the exhaust manifolds back and I dont want to spend $400. If I were to cut out the Flowmaster mufflers and weld in these mufflers would it be about the same as the SLP loudmouth. Thanks.

 

Well I wouldn't take it to the bank or anything, and it depends on the area you live in, but around here cars are allowed to be pretty damn loud, and the 4.6 isn't exactly the loudest engine on the road, so I think they're legal at least here. You might want to check the sound requirements for your area though. I have heard sound clips of Mustangs with race bullets, and they sound downright rude! [:-] I myself have thought about swapping out the Flows for a set of those.

 

I would go with SLP and if you are going to get sick of resignation(sp?) then don't get one. 99 FRC Z51 has them and he is defintely heard a mile away just getting on it a little. But if you're not used to riding in the car the resignation can be a little much, it doesn't go away! But it sounds so good though, a small price to pay for such sound. People are definitely intimidated

 

I found out for sure the bullets are legal here in NC, but I'm not sure what size muffler to order. I was thinking it would be the 4" round/diameter, with a 2 1/2" in/out. Or the 4" round/diameter, with a 2 1/4" in/out. If anyone could let me know what size I need for my 02 GT I would appreciate it. Thanks.

BBK LT's, Mac Prochamber, & Magnapacks is another one. I prefer the other setup, because of the better quality brands.

 

What is a loudest brand to go with? My friend has a MAC exhaust system and it sounds pretty loud but I was seeing if there is anything out there, that is better and legal.

Depends on your state laws.

Magnapacks are the loudest 'legal' mufflers you can get your paws on. They sound f'ing amazing too.
