1st they dyno the car with out the mod , hood closed , warm egine , no air flow,
then they put the mod on , dyno a cold engine with raised hood and lots of air flow.
I know at the track ill run 9.8 all day with a warm engine, then if i run with a cooled off engine i run 9.6

so instead of gettin a CAI i can just take out my air box and put a new K&N filter in there???

you would gain hp if youre running a larger maf. stock from the factory, the maf and air silencer are the narrowest part of the intake. if your still have the small factory maf, removing teh air silencer wont do much but if your running a larger maf or even better, larger maf and tb you will gain hp.
leave the stock air box in the car after removing the air silencer. the air silencer is in the fender behind the stock air box
