Default 8psi Procharger making 5psi??

I installed a boost gauge and my 8PSI P-1SC procharger is only registering 5-5.5 psi. What is the deal? Has any one else had this issue?

Yes. WOT at around 5500 RPM. I am not sure if advertised PSI is the same as actual PSI once it runs through the intercooler.

an intercooler is going to cut off about 2psi. so if you have an 8 pound pulley, you're only going to get about 5-6. get a smaller pulley.

I ordered a 10LB pulley. Now I wonder if I should have went with a 12LB.

I'm intercooled and make just barely over 8 on my boost gauge near redline. Does that mean I might have a 10 psi pulley? That might explain why I make a little more to the wheels than others running 8 psi.

Does anyone know the dimension of the 8 psi ProCharger pulley?

Any mod that lowers the air restriction into and out of the motor will cause lower boost readings, long tube headers are a big help in that department. Therefore you will see a lower boost reading. If you have a true 8lb pulley and nothing else is wrong, your s/c is forcing the same amount of air into your engine as it would on a completely stock car at 8psi because boost is only a measure of restriction not airflow.
