Default RE: headers

i dont know a whole lot about headers. but i have seen and heard many times that shorty or mid length arent really worth the money. that u should spend the extra on good long tubes. long tubes will push the most power. $400 bucks to instal shortys is a rip off in my opinion. most shops will charge $60 a hour. it dosent take 7 hours to install shortys. i wouldnt go with that shop. thats my opinion.

Shorties are a waste of money. The only difference really between them and your exaust manifolds is the size of pipe, other than that it won't make that much difference.

The LTs are a bitch to install, and I have been quoted over 600 dollars to install them, which is why I ended up doing them myself. I can completly see a shop charging 400 to do it, I wouldn't do it for any less myself thats for sure.

In any case, either go LTs or dont bother. The little bit extra money you will spend will really help you in the end, espcially if you are planning N20 or a supercharger later on.

BTW, get ceramic. I know its yet again more money, but you get what you pay for, and not having your headers rusted out is worth it.
