? ABOUT HEADERS
i currently have frpp shortie headers, but want to switch to MAC ceramic coated LT headers, i have bassani x pipe with cats. will the long tube headers match up to the x-pipes in place of the frpp shorties. or do you have to do some type of custom fit
Its the length of the mid-pipe that you have to worry about. They make mid-pipes for "stock/shorty" and "longtube" headers. If the headers your looking to buy doesn't say "for use with long tube headers" then they won't work. Longtubes extend all the way down to the bottom of the car parallel with the chassis. Shorties only go to right off the heads.
Not even close by 2 feet. The long tubes extend way past where your catted x pipe starts. Why would you want to change to long tubes and then run it through cats? That defeats the purpose. You only gain 5-10 HP by swithing to LTs you can get more than that by taking off the cats with an off road x or h pipe. Those LTs will cost you more than it would to switch for inspection for a few years. Spend your money on more intake stuff or get rid of those cats.
