Ok i have a 96 mustang gt. its completely stock but i am looking for lots more HP. i was thinkin about a supercharger, but what would i need for it? what do i need to do to it first so that i can get a s/c later on?
i was also thinking of swapping the engine for an 02 gt engine, or an 04 f150 5.4 (i think the 5.4 fits right?) well all input is appreciated.

 

There are plenty of things you can do to make a lot more hp. Full exhaust, headers-back. What is your budget like? Maybe witch to PI heads. Most S/C kits come with everything you'll need to run the specified boost level.

My friend told me that in order to get a s/c, i had to have forged internals or something like that. and wellabout my budget, i dont know how much i got till my financial aid kicks in. but im guessing im gonna get about 5k and ill have 3k left after i pay tuition. the previous owner of my car told me something like he took out 6 of the 8 catbacks or something like that, cuz its loud as hell.

 

You don't need a forged motor unless you are running a lot of boost. If you only run the 8 or so psi that's recommended, you shouldn't have a problem. What do you mean he took out the catbacks?

 

oh so if i run between 6 and 8 psi of boost i wont need forged internals...and i dont know what he meant by taking out the catbacks. he was a dumbass who didnt really care about the car. but idk its pretty damn loud. ok so should i start off with like headers, intake, gears and stuff like that? this is my first mustang so i dont know that much. but im very willing to learn and take tips.
