Default 99/03 Cobra Supercharger Swap Question!!!

Found a complete stock 03 Supcharger with intake, MAF, rail and injectors, plumbing, 2.8 pulley, T/B, and intercooler..... we will be installing this on a 99 cobra 4.6, non blown obvisously. Now the 99 has all your typical bolt on goodies, CAI, UDP's, full exhaust, custom tune thanks to Dan the man, 4:30 gears, and a Tri-Axx. So can anyone tell me how much stuff we are going to run into trying to make this happen? I know we will need an upper intake set of course but other then that, can anyone give us some insight? Any brackets? Anyone know of some instructional anywhere? We are somewhat mechanically enclined or would have never taken this project on. Just looking for a heads up so we can be prepared going into this. Also, lets say one year from now we want to put a Vortech or whatever blower on the car replacing the Eaton. Is this going to be an issue also????

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Bill

I honestly cant tell you, but wont the UDPs mess this up? Belt not the same length and the like? And oyu also have to worry aboot running too much boost, the Terminators have forged internals, the 99/01 do not.

you're better off buying a vortech or something for your car.

ok, but why???? I mean 5K compare to 1K for a system that I can upgrade if need be some day. Seems nobody can really give me answers on this. I think after I do the swap, I am going to write an article on this, educate people on it.

First off you will need to ditch the underdrive pulleys. You will need a crank pulley from a Terminator along with the idlers and tensioner for the blower, the heat exchanger, fuel rails, upgraded fuel pumps(of some sort and the Terminator fuel tank would be a good idea). I am sure there are more parts but that is a start. The 99 Cobra engine is going to have higher compression and weaker internals so watch the boost level. But if you are considering going to a centrifugal in a year why even do this, most of this work will need to be undone.

heh. even an aftercooled vortech costs under 5k. non-cooled is about 3k now. dunno where you get your prices from.

the reason for not gettin the cobra s/c and get a new one is that its a lot less trouble... just as good enough better gains... and u will end up spending more than 1k(probly closer to 2k after you run into all the problems) on the cobra newayz were a vortech setup mite cost somewer along the lines of 3k... not to mention that if ure boosted is to high and u let it go long enough ull blow you engine... then your really in deep... gotta look at the big pic... its just no worth it... a lotta ppl upgrade the cobra s/c to a KB or turbo anywayz and u will want to do the same later on which would me more money... just do it rite the first time is basically all it is... play around iwth it if u want... its a lotta more moeny than im willing to thro around tho

"closer to 2K after you run into all the problems" ................... ok i have heard that a few times now, but nobody has mentioned what problems that may be. that is all i am trying to figure out. once installed and is running atleast, it is being trailered to a tuner to dial everything in ie: boost. With UDP's, why not run a bigger S/C pulley? I can understand a different f. pump for more psi, regulator, something along those lines as well. but not 1,000 bucks worth of problems.

You don't run a bigger s/c pulley with UDPs because that slows the s/c down even more!

bigger...smaller.... regardless why can't you just change the s/c pulley to compensate for the UDP's?????
