Just installed the Vortech!
Finally after 8 1/2 hours, the blower install is done! Well, actually around 7:00 yesterday. The whine sounds sweet! I have been keeping it below 2000rpms and she runs great! I wont be giving it any boost until she gets tuned here by the end of the week. Some ricers tried to race me, and I pulled up beside a vortech blown 01 cobra! 2 superchargers just sitting there whistling it was pretty cool. Ill take some pics today!
I just got mine done yesterday as well. It sounds bad, it idles just a little rought, but I guess thats to be expected when you go from 19 to 38lb inj. Its not getting tuned until next wed so its just going to sit, I have a truck so I dont have to worry about driving it anywere. What kinda numbers are you expecting? did u get a v-2?
SAP you wanted some advice on the install,, go out and find all your tools you are going to need, the 3/8 NPT tap is pretty hard to track down I had to call the snap on dealer, but you can Maybe find it at NAPA. Tapping your oil pan is not hard prob the eaiest thing but just nerve racking just go slow, and start with small pnches and just get a lil bigger. Other than that its just lots of clamps in tight spacing. also you need to get the belt routed when you put the bracket on, youll see what I mean when you get to that step.
