Default Replacing new mufflers

OK ive decided to get straight through mufflers but stock i dont have a center to center muffler , i got side to side ( in referance to the inlets) will my tips have to be rebent or any extra work done to nake these mufflers work? I was hoping to simply cut off my old mufflers and weld the new ones one.

get a cat back system. magnaflow or slp offers what you are looking for.

you can use whatever mid pipe you want. aftermarket or stock. and the catback comes with new tips. your original idea would hurt performance, ie stock non mandrel bent pipes, and welded in pipes to compensate for straight muffler, would cause restriction.

I cant just weld mufflers in place of my old ones? I was looking under the car just now and i dont have to get center/center i can get the offset offset and its still slanted straight through. My stock pipes seem to be perfectly circular and not oval , but thats just on the outside, i was told my car had aftermarket ford mufflers , cause i think it was in a wreck once.

you can just weld in mufflers, but if your looking for performance, get rid of the stock cat back, it has non mandrel bent pipes.

I just went through replacing just the mufflers. What a pain in the you know what. I would just buy the cat back kit. This is the way I see it:

2 mufflers cost ~ $200 total, a cat back kit with the 2 mufflers, pipes, clamps and hangers cost about $250. Cat back kit you can bolt on in an hour. Just replacing the mufflers there is cutting, welding, things not fitting. It will take you allot longer + you have to factor in the cost of asprin, bandaids, an all the booze you'll need to drink to relieve the stress

iam getting fustrated with this, i have 300 to spend on exhaust , ive had dynomax befor and i like them. I really dont car about pipe cause its just and extra 5hp and not worth it to me. So i guess i will settle with a Dynomax Catback. Anyone here have dynomax and want to sugest a seris? i had a Super turbo 2 Dynomax on my nissan and it sounded great.

Why would you loose power?
