Default FMU question

I have a 94 Intercooled Procharger. I bought it with the charger already installed. I recently took it to a shop that works on some mean *** cars and the first thing they pointed out was that it didn't have an fmu. My car has 30 pd injectors in it, it has full length headers with o/r x pipe, and a slp catback. It also has a granatelli mass air meter on it. My question is what ratio fmu do i need. They said a 5 or 6 to 1 would be good since it already holds about 35-40. Was wondering if that was the way to go. Any info would really help cuz i'm wanting to get all i can with this charger. Right now it shows on my air/fuel gauge that its burning about right, even when its building boost. But i've heard its hard for the gauges to work with fuel injection, let alone a stock o2 sensor. So if anyone has any info i could use it. Thanks

If they can tune it go with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. You'll get more power out of it because you can fine tune it. An fmu always has a set ratio.

doesnt sound like a very good shop if they recommend getting an fmu. larger injectors and a tune of the computer is better then an fmu.

also, if the sc is already on, is it running lean? if not there is no point in getting an fmu

+1.
The adjustable fuel pressure regulator makes it very easy to tune the car if you can get an accurate air/fuel mixture ratio. You can even tune it yourself if you have a wideband setup & can tell where 14:1 is.
