Default accurate hp estimate

i have a 2001 mustang Gt with cat back exaust, sct xcal2 and a CAI. at the end of this month i am getting the vortech v-1 s-trim s/c. superchargersonline advertises that starting at 260 hp stock i will be pushing 364 hp with the supercharger is this an accurate claim or is that jst like everything else where they promise a lot more hp than you get. im jst wonderin if i should jst hold out for a few more weeks and get the vortech with the aftercooler that advertises 402 hp. thanks i appreciate any opinions

it takes 10-12 lbs of boost to see 100 hp increase

usually the rule of thumb is 10-12hp per pound of boost. youll get more hp per pound if your running a turbo or some type of cooler (methanol, n2o, or inter/after cooler).

my car makes about 280rwhp without my sc. with my sc making 10psi of boost im making 461rwhp.........thats 180rwhp from 10psi which comes out to 18rwhp from each pound of boost. but i run methanol to cool my boost air and allows me to run more timing

280rwhp is estimated from the fact i have an aod, and run the stock cam, motor internals are all orriginal 302 (bearings, rings, etc)

my car made 239RWHP before the supercharger, 354rwhp after, 360RWHP after a tb/plenum, 410RWHP after the water/meth boost cooler.

Mine only put down 345whp 358wtq with stock TB/plenum and stock headers on 8psi. Get the intercooled version, or go with a procharger. My intake air temps are in the 170-190 degree range and we couldnt give it any timing. With an intercooler/TB/plenum it should push 400whp.

the throttle body and plenum won't make any noticeable difference. the cooler will though. i picked up 50RWHP from my boost cooler.

Im make 447/401 on 10psi with no cooling, of course i have a bunch of supporting mods. I have the methanol kit installed but not tuned, waiting to finish installing the intercooler, so well see how much hp a bunch of cooling and timing will add You should be making about 350 on 10 psi

I want a boost cooler, but wouldnt I need a flip chip with 2 different tunes on it? If it does then that means Ill need a completely different chip and a retune....[:@] Maybe ill just save for the FMIC and retune the chip I have.... Boost cooler+chip+tuning= ~$900 vs Paxton FMIC= $1300

no, you won't need 2 different tunes. the boost cooler doesn't spray until you start hitting boost (3psi roughly is when it starts spraying), otherwise, it does nothing. you can just put the cheap blue wiper fluid in there ($.95 at wal mart) and the fluid lasts quite a long time, so you don't have to refill it often. you will have to get a retune if you want to take advantage of it though. make sure you go to a tuner that knows how to tune for meth injection though.
