Default Nitrous Question

So Im trying to learn here so go easy on me lol. Why exactly would say a 200 shot destroy my engine, while a 100 shot is fine? Is it that the nitrous is causing the engine to run too lean or raise the compression too much or what?

IMO....i think its because the stock block wasnt built for that much HP all at once. Plus i think its mostly because of people being greedy and using too much of a shot and not enough fuel, the right spark plug and too much timing.

Because you bought a modular motor and your pistons are made of glass.

nitrous causes alot of pressure. the stock internals cant handle that kind of pressure.

Default RE: Nitrous Question

Everything has basically been said.

1. Nitrous of any shot w/o tuning will lean out the engine and cause detonation. Say bye bye to the engine w/ that.

2. Nitrous increases the power of the engine and the combustion portion in particular. The rods in your engine will not hold up to the power. They may hold up for a little.(Note: MAY, and a LITTLE) but, you are on borrowed time w/ that big of a shot.

3. The difference in the 100 and 200 shot is the amount of nitrous that is added to the mixture. The larger 200 shot uses more nitrous which in turn makes a bigger explosion and more power. Now see number 2.
