Help! No boost!
ok well i finally got my mongoose kit installed.... and boy was it a pita lol. everything is hooked up except the 90mm mass air flow which it should have for the tune. they didnt send a big enough silicone coupler to fit it so i had to use the stock one. anyways.... the car still will not boost maybe 1 lb max. boost gauge seems to be working perfect, it has vacuum and the car is def. not faster. at idle it is fine around 14.7 a/f. when I give it gas it will richen up like it should but theres no boost to go with it so it will get to around 10.0 a/f when givin a decent amount of gas if sometimes not more. when cruising or driving normal the a/f is fine, but when i let off the gas and coast of push the clutch in it wants to lean out real quick then jump back to stoich. this is probably from the mass air flow or a combo, but the main thing is....
What would cause my car to not get any boost???????????????
thanks in advance

umm well if its not tuned yet you should be trying to give it any boost. But still, with a vortech you wont see any boost unless it is at WOT and at least 3500rpms. Thats why centris are so cool because it drives like a normal stang until you get into it. You basically have to be racing before you see boost.
well i tried flooring it w/out much luck, and it is tuned.... that was part of the kit. im gonna get that bigger mass air flow on today to elimanate hopefully all and any minor tuning probs today. the guy at vortech said to not use the bypass valve to try it out and see if it gets boost (and obviously let out of the gas real slow) and see if i get any boost from that. hopefully i can figure it out. so ur sayin it wont see any boost unless i have it all the way pegged? ive had it floored and past 3500 a couple times and it just doesnt boost and gets rich from lack of air. im using a the innovate lm-1 wideband for the a/f metering. illl keep this updated if none of this stuff i just said works
Sounds like a boost leak to me, make sure you tightened every connecting point properly. If you can check this, then take some pictures, and call Tim @ MPH, he will be able to figure out the problem in no time. If you have a minute, take a pic of your engine bay and I can see if there is anything obviously wrong as I just installed my mongoose kit 2 months ago.
Good Luck,

is the meter after the s/c?
If your gauge doesn't go up after 3500rpm then you have a leak somewhere. Is the kit intercooled? Check all the pipes to make sure none came off & check the intercooler for cracks along the welds (if you have one).
If both of those are fine your bov is staying stuck open. Are the vacuum lines ran right one it?

alright we got her figured out. I put in the bigger maf for safety. not too far off the other one but its more consistant on the a/f. before i hadnt really got on it, but we hooked the boost gauge up to a vacuum pump and found out it was leakin at the gauge because the line was hitting the pod and leakin. so we tilted it and tested it and it held pressure. took it for a drive and it boosted up to 5 lbs before I had to let off because it was starting to sprinkle and with all the power it just wanted to get sideways. so ill be able to see better when its dry out. but it appears to be working fine now from as much as i could tell, and a/f seems to be good under wot at about 11 so its even on the safe side of being rich.
and btw its the non-intercooled. we tested the bypass valve with the vacuum pump and it worked fine

yes now im running the maf they sent me... and i wasnt loosing boost because of the gauge, It just wasnt reading right, I just never really got on it completely with the other maf because i didnt want problems but it still should have read at least a few lbs for the throttle i gave it just not full boost. it doesnt run so rich now and its right about where it should be when boosting. it was a tad wet out yesterday so I havent been able to really test it out fully yet and feel the speed because all I did was spin tires like a madman.
