hey.. i have a 1996 cobra, and i was wondering what gears do i have? im thinking i have 3.27.. but not sure.. i would like to go for some 3.73's or 3.55's.. i want more performance without sacrificing my "great gas milage." i dont want 4.10s.. what you guys think?

i don't know what you have, but it's not noticible unless go 2 gearsets (unless your HAVE to for some reason)

each jump of gearset will add 250 rpms at any given speed. so the diff between 3.73 and 4.10's is only 250 rpms

i love 4.10's, i get 21.25 mpg on my '93 notch 5-speed AC going, and tach 3000 doing 80 mph

If you call up ford they will tell you how to read the axle tag on your differential cover.

 

If i had to guess id guess 3.27 i got a 94 gt and they came with em so i dont see how a later model cobra would not have those at least.
