Default Bassani exhaust for 06 GT?

Alright, a while back I heard that the Bassani exhaust system for the 06 GT was a very loud system. That's what I want. I want my pony to be real loud. To be honest, I think the Flowmaster system for the 05+ GT's sound no different than stock, perhaps just a LITTLE bit louder, but not noticeable.

So, I've heard real good things about a full Borla system and I've heard good things about Bassani as well, and I'll be getting a full exhaust system including longtube headers.

So, with that in mind, does anyone have anything they can say about either Borla or Bassani?? I want my car to be real loud, so if you guys have actually heard (on the 05+ models) or had experience with either of these companies, what input can you give? Thanks!

I heard that Bassani has a lot higher quality of steel than Borla. I was also told that Borla has gone downhill a bit and some of there products are not even being made here in the states. I actually have a 95 GT that I am about to Bassani on and I have a friends who also has Bassani and loves it! You may also want to look into JBA exhaust. Jba is suppost to sound awesome on the 05+ GT's.

I have set of Bassanis on my 07 that I had installed two weeks after I bought the car.

Lived with them for a few months now and I love the sound. Not loud enough to be obnoxious (or citation generating) but with a nice deep throaty tone under acceleration and a little author-rah-tah at idle. Just right.

I like those big chrome exhaust tips as well.

I would go with the long-tubes with a off road bassani X pipe without cats...I got stock magnaflows on mine and it is loud and sounds bad as hell...I would go with a 2 chamber super 40 series flowmaster muffler as well...I m sure you would be very satisfied with that... See my muffler clip

I think I'm a little confused.. I'm real new to this modification stuff, and you are saying to go with the X-pipe without cats.. but the bassani site is saying that it's illegal to remove any functioning cat.. so how exactly does this work if I'm ordering pipes without a cat?

I have the BASSANI SS RACING exhaust with the stock H pipe and it sounds mean as hell. Before you start removing cats and so forth check the emisions for your state. You will be happy with the BASSANI catbac, well worth the money.

^+1, check your states emission laws first. Not too much of a difference between hi-flows cats and O/R midpipe.

If you live in virginia i would worry about exhaust being legal or not, but go with a single chamber flowmaster off road x pipe, and a set of equal lengthor long tubes if you want your 05 and up mod motor to sound mean as hell. Personaly i think borla should stick with gm vehicles, mustang have a totally better sound than gm vehicles, i have heard a few mustangs with a borla exhuast and they sound like a 71' model pick up truck with a 350, and we all know what that sounds like. Thats just my opinion.

All these guys are correct about your cats. It depends on the state that you register it in. Mine is registered in Ohio and we don't have emissions. The shop that did my work installed my exhaust and at that time they took the cats off. Just ask a local shop about the cats unless you are doing it yourself. But if you live in a state that has emissions you have to have cats..Good luck with your choice and let us know how it sounds..Don't go Borla...Flowmaster or magnaflow with o/r X or Hare good choices..
