Default Intercoolers

Air to water or air to air? bar and plate or tube and fin? I saw the write up on the treadstone - it looks good and made 65 rwhp difference, what do you guys think? - thanks

1) Air to Air for a dd car...Air to water is more for a track car where you can ice it down and stuff

2) Dont plan on getting that much hp from the intercooler unless you push out some serious boost...but the intercooler alone isn't going to give you that much

well i believe that it does allow you to get that much at 10lbs, i dont know his previous boost... but he went from 365 to 420 rwhp... I believe it, but my goal right now is about 400 or so wheel, or 460-470 rwhp on a dyno jet. The tuner is all about me gettin a air to water but they are 4x the price, much more complicated and can get heat soak, but i can ice it... i figured id just spary the intercooler when i need a little boost or get hot

I would do the Air-Air and concur with bar/plate.

I've considered spraying the IC but I'm waiting for others to do it to see the real world gains.

IMO, if you are looking for 400rwhp you should go with an Air/Air, get a smaller pulley to run more boost and use Nitrous spray or meth spray on your I/C if your still falling short of your goals.

Actually I got all that HP from the timing and tuning after the intercooler. The baseline after just the install, with not tune... was 395 RWHP. That was with the intercooler, and customer power pipe. I was already running the 3.33 pulley.

i went from 360RWHP to 410RWHP adding a snow performance boost cooler stage 2 to my vortech. i'm running off the cheap $1 wiper fluid, i could have gotten more if i was running the boost juice, but this stuff is cheaper and can be found anywhere.
i'm holding 467RWHP now.

it's not a bad deal with pretty good gains. there's cheaper meth kits out there, but the snow gave you the option for safe injection which was $140 more for the kit and the bypass release to run it 100% safe and without worry. the actual kit itself was $399. make sure your tuner knows how to tune for them first though. otherwise you most likely won't pick up squat.
