Default Nitrous help Please!!!!

Ok so i just installed a zex dry kit on my 5.0 and the guy i bought the kit from said that it is for top end only and that you cant use it off the line. Is this true? Are you suppose to wait until your in like 3rd or 4th gear then try to flick the arming switch while getting ready to shift into the next gear? It just doesnt make since to me but i dont want to do it wrong any feedback would really help thanks.

What he means by top end is up in the rpm range. Don't spray it off the line without a tune. It doesn't matter about the gear your in. Make sure your at 3000 rpms or better when you spray it. Get it tuned and you can spray it off the line. It's more dangerous to spray it in 5th running 150 than anything. Don't listen to that guy, you can spray it when ever you won't to just don't spray it off an idle unless you have a tune.

i don't know about a tune.....i spray a 100 shot in mine with mt drag slicks and its been fine for me. just make sure you retard the timing so you don't get any detonation

+1 When you get a car tuned for nitrous all they do is retard the timing. Retarding the timing takes away hp and gas mileage while your not using the nitrous. If you get a tune with a flip switch you can toggle between your nitrous tune and street tune with the flip of a switch and still have good hp and fuel milage while driving on the street. I never go any of my cars tuned for nitrous either, I just run a window switch. The down side to a window switch though is that you can't spray it until 3000 rpms. If you get a tune you can spray it off the line. If you have a 302 you can make a couple of marks on your distributor and retard the timing that way while at the track.
