horsepower or torque???
which numbers are more important, horsepower or torque? which numbers or more important in getting a good time at the track?? whats the difference really? you feel torque, but im not to sure about the importantc of horspower??? thanks
Tq = strength; Hp = speed
A car w/1 hp and 500 tq = very strong pulling very slow car.
a car 500 hp and 1 tq = weak pulling very fast speed
(although it would take forever to reach top end)
Another way to put it:
Torque = 1 big elephant could pull a ton, strong; but not real fast
Hp = 1 cheetah fast but not strong like the elephant

I thought torque was used to determine HP.
I remember reading that a chassis dyno measures the torque at the wheels and uses that to calculate the HP number, meaning the HP number isn't measured, just an output from an equation computed by the dyno software.
