Default RE: headers??

Im shopping around for headers too.No question is a stupid one.Unequal length headers are a little difficult to install, and work around like when your changing plugs, and you have to watch where your spark plug wires are routed. But you can make some pretty good power gains with those. Equal lengths look like the stock headers but they don't have those indents. Long tubes are the best to get if you want to make power and better sound, but the install is kind of tricky, youhave to get amini starter, and a new mid pipe(with cats if you have smog tests). Ive seen long tubes melt stock starters. Ive had leaking issues with Mac headers in the past and some other people havetoo. The high dollar headers are pretty good: BBK, Bassani, etc. Get ceramic coated ones. Ive never heard any complaints about Flowtechs. Most people I know use BBK or Ford Racing ceramic headers. Just make sure you get some very good header gaskets and bolts. Jegs carries some good gaskets and bolts. I'll probably get the Ford Racing ceramic headers until the day comes when I pull out the motor and get some long tubes

Default RE: headers??

equal length and long tubes require you to raise the motor a bit to clear for the install, i like long tubes the best

UEL shorties will do nothing for performance and little for sound, long tubes do the most for both which still isn't much in the HP dept, but sound great , EL shorties are a halfbreed of the 2

i like mac i'm on my second set, bbk are great too, and have a single flange which is better

i hate flowtech, i had them on 1 car and would never use them again
