If I was.......
Depending on the kit and if you go wet or dry you need:
For Safety
-------------------------
Fuel Pressure Regulator
RPM Window Switch
For Performance
-------------------------
Bottle Warmer
Bottle Opener
Purge Kit
Pressure Gauge
As far as the amount of juice it'll hold, rule of thumb is 20hp per cylinder but I wouldn't go past 80-100 on a sixxer. Oh, and NOS is a brand so unless you are getting an actual Nitrous Oxide System kit from Holley. Its N2O... only ricers call all nitrous "nawzz"

You will also want a good dyno tune for the juice. That is good insurance.
P.S. IF you have a stock 04 V6, it is a 232 cubic inch 3.8L engine not a 3.9L.

Yeah, I wouldn't go over 100 on a stock engine. I've always been told max shot should be 1/2 of your base hp. So for you approx 95 max. Window switch is a good idea, bottle warmer, and purge kit.
Dry nitrous fools the car into adding more fuel through the injectors. There is only one line from the bottle to your solenoid, and from your solenoid to the intake. Wet has two lines. One from the bottle like before, but there is also another that will tap into your fuel rail, and then go to the solenoid and intake via a single nozzle. They say wet generally adds more torque, although I can't speak on this because I don't know. I think samsneed has run both and can compare the two. Maybe he'll chime in later. You shouldn't need to upgrade your fuel system unless you are going with a really big shot. But for you I would advise around 75 or the aforementioned max 95. You should be ok with that.
lol i wouldnt spray a sixer or any engine unless i built it b/c for some reason people have a hard time keeping htere engines running when they spray them...may b they just abuse the spray but i would recommend building your engine!
If 3 things happen he will be fine
1)His car has been taken care of and is in good condition
2)He gets the car tuned if he goes with one of the larger shots ie 75+
3)He uses it responsibly, for example....don't get bored with your safe tune and try to up the shot to 150, and use all the safety devices available to you, like a window switch, etc.

+1 hehehehe on the NAWZZZZZZ. You will need a kit by N-O-S if you want to hook up NOS. Otherwise, you can look at kits from Cold Fusion, Nitrous Works, Nitrous Express, Zex, TNT, Edelbrock, Venom, etc......
