Default adding N2O. HELP!!!!!

I have never messed with N2O, always been a N/A guy, it scarys the heck out of me, heard to many horror stories. I have a 92GT that i just put a 98 explorer engine in. I have a mac cold air, C&L mass air set up for 24 pound injectors, 24 pound injectors, 70mm TB @EGR, UNDER DRIVE PULLIES, electric fan, AOD with a B&M shift improver and a 3:73 gear. It runns very strong and still gets good MPG, and I would like to keep it that way, it is my daily driver, but i like to race anything that wants to race. So I have been reading up on N2O, and I like what I see. I was just wandering what I can get by with and if my setup will even stand it. What do I need to get.... Thanks for helping, open to any ideas!!!!!!!

If I was going to do I would buy a zex dry kit its like $430 bucks on ebay easy to put on
follow all the directions fuel jet, nos jet retard timing you should be fine
thats just what I would do .
In my opinion those zex kits are the best for something like you want
I put one on a ford lighting 1994 he is using the 125 shot and his timing is at 8* on the dizzy.
it has 130,000 miles on it and he is doing just fine he still uses the same plugs
I would go down atleast one degree on the heat range on the plugs if it was mine just to be safe.
Just one more thing. Its more addictive than crack rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, definitely get new plugs and shorten the gap or you'll be asking for problems. Follow the directions regarding install, and timing and you'll be fine.

addictive it is

80 jets will cut a full second off your ET and allow you to get 10 full 1/4 mile passes per bottle.

i also like dry kits for the ease of the install, and if your not really going any bigger than an occasional 125, it's all you need.
your perfectly safe going 125-150, but you will see abigger gain w/ the first half of it......what i'm saying is you may cut a full second w/ 75 jets, that doesn't mean you will cut 2 seconds w/ 150 jets, 1.5 would be about the max you might see.

other than a basic kit that should have the fuel pressure safety switch, you'll want a heater eventually (cold bottles make less hp and use more nitrous, so eventually a heater pays for itself) i use stock plugs gapped at .040" , 89 octane if it's cool out, or 93 if it's hot and run 12* timing for 80 jets.

higher hp runs will require either more octane or less timing, and if it's hot or humid even more/less (respectively)

it is PERFECTLY safe...don't let the liars steer you away.

i am spraying my 3rd car, all had over 100k on them, 2 were over 125k my current car is almost 140k

i had a zex kit, no probs, i prefer the NOS 5115 dry kit to it though, i'm on my second one. the zex is a bit easier since all the selonoids are already together, but thats the same reason i prefer the NOS kit, because you can get to it to rebuild a selonoid if need be, also the NOS kit runs a double selonoid for safety, and allows the the nitrous reg to sandwich between them. just my personal preferance

i would however stay away from the cold fusion or venom kits, i never had one, but don't care for the setup (again...personal preferance)

and if you plan on more than an occasional 125-150........go wet

Thanks so much for the advice guys. I was looking at the ZEX kits in summit. Is there a better place to purchase. I was wonderingif any one knew anything about the bottom end of an 98explorer engine. Someone told me they was a little stonger than the 92 mustang engine. Is there any truth to that. Thanks for easing my mind about the n2o. It always helps to hear from someone that has been there done that. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME....

Ever hear anything about dyno tune nitrous? I have not heard of any mustangs running em but on ls1 tech there are a few guys running them.

Don't buy from summit, unless you like wasting money. Summit has a lot of great stuff, but you can get half of it cheaper on ebay. I got my brand new kit for $550 including shipping, and that was a wet kit, I think dry kits are usually around $400. Summit will probably kill you with shipping and charge about $100 more for the kit.

I ran a Zex dry kit on my old combo with 155,000 miles.

Just in case your wondering 1992 5.0, if your motor is from a 98 explorer it should have the GT40 style intake and GT40P heads so it should put down 240-250rwhp.
