Default Two step?

I know a guy that has the SCT tuner that apparently can tune a two step for my car. The thought of having boost as the launch gives me a big grin especially since I am rebuilding the rear currently. I am just wondering if putting a two step tune on my car is a very smart idea, I still have two years left on my warranty for the head unit and a couple months for the rest of the parts, I just don't want to blow anything up. Anyone have any experience with this sort of tune on their car?
