What exactly are strait pipes? And would they sound good on an 89 5.0?

 

strait pipes means just not using any mufflers and its completely annoying, you cant even hear yourself think without mufflers and no cats

i had stright headers on for a 20 mile drive to the exhaust shop, it isnt THAT loud...

I have straight pipes on my 97 Mustang GT and I love them. I've never had anyone complain about the sound of them except for the old people in my neighborhood.

 

i was thinking of running strait pipes on my 94 5.0 i bought a set of holley flowtech afterburnes the ony thing i was wondering was how is the back pressure on these? will it sound like im making popcorn bc i hate that noise but currently my car sounds funny like deep at low rpm's n start up but at high rpms it gets annoying i just want a deeper sound i had planned on cutting my mufflers off and putting my cats back in how would this sound

 

I run open headers with an extra 18" of pipe. Loud, definitely. Annoying, sometimes. I like it tho.

 

yeah but how is the back presure on this does it pop? because thats all im trying to avoid not having enough back presure bc poppy exhaust sound like ****
