im 15 and i have been looking around for some exhaust also. one of the muffler shops where i live quoted me like 470$ for the american thunder catback with insatllation.

.....now im having second thoughts. i heard acer's slp loudmouths and let me just say that i needed to change my pants after i heard it. i am seriously considering slp now. i lnow that nanaki also has slp, but his is loudmouth II's. he said that they r a little bit deeper.
there's my 2 cents.

ok, first of all, the key to making it oud is getting a catless h or x pipe, go with h for better sound. and also you could do long tube headers if you want, but youll need to get a short h pipe along with it. i would reccomend getting headers and h pipe and cat back all at the same time. you will trust me in the end. oh if your car is a manual, then get longtube headers and short h, and if its and auto, then get equal length shorty headers. the longtubes wont clear the auto tranny. and if you do get longtubes, excpect to spend about 10 hours+ installing them. personally i would do equal length shorties BBK O/R(catless) h pipe. and spintech mufflers. spintech doesnt make cat backs, so you could go somewhere like www.macperformance.com and get the trailpipes, and the flow tubes you are gonna need(they connect the muffler to the h pipe) then for the mufflers, once again i would reccomend spintech. go to www.drgas.com and click on spintech mufflers at the top. with no cats, the sportsmans are prolly gonna be plenty loud. but if you want even louder, get the pro streets. this will make for one NICE sounding stang! hope this helped. i know how ya feel man, im only 15 too. i have a sound clip of spintech on a 4.6, ill post it when i get home, but now im off to that fun place called school

Still boasting about something ya don't use bobby?
Well if you do have a stick don't go shorties, dispite what bobby reccomends.
The HP difference from shorties from stock is extremely minimal.
They really arnt worth the money.
Longtubes may look much more expensive, but look at midpipes for shorty headers and long tubes
the Midpipe for the longtubes are considerably less, so it comes out almost the same price.

a Nice set like BBK Ceramic Coated LT's will run you about $400+, and yes get ceramic coated to help keep engine temps down.
They also cool down faster too.

As for the spintech's, I've yet to hear them in person so I can't really judge them. Only heard them on cam'd cars too online so that isnt helping either.
What I can boast for is what I've had in the past, Flowmaster 40's and Magnaflow Magnapacks.
After I had purchased the offroad X pipe the flowmasters sounded VERY VERY tinny up high...
Hated it so bad, so I made the switch to Magnapacks after reading about them. After the install I fired her up and WOW...
First thing I noticed was how deep the damn thing was even with an X pipe...
Was simply amazed, then I went for a drive and it SCREAMS up top!! Decelerated in gear and it had a harley cackle(love the sound...)
So this muffler easily suited my needs, not to mention it's a straight through design so you can make more power with it. Even tho that's really a moot point because the gains are very minimal.

Anyhoo, to sum it up Get Longtube headers and an offroad Mid Pipe X for HP, H for deeper at idle.
And I prefer Magnapacks for a muffler.

don't feel bad man. You arent the only 1 who has an auto. I have an auto and i love it. just think about it you dont have to do as much thinking when u race as a guy with a manual does. they have to do all sorts of things at once and u just gotta sit there with your foot ont he gas making sure you go straight. the manuals r faster though[:@]. but if u get yourself a nice shift kit and a new diablo tuner u might be able to hang with the manuals. but any wayz just be proud of your car no matter what and all in all you got yourself a BADASS MUSTANG!!!!

p.s.- i would do some heavy researching until you find out exactly what exhaust you want. it is a lot of dough so just get what YOU want and only what YOU want so dont let all the ppl here sway you into the wrong direction cuz everyone on here will tell you that what they have is the best. I would advise you to listen to some clips from mustangexhaust.com. they have every kind of set up u can imagine. "well not really, but they sure as hell got a lot."

o ya sorry guys fir the looooooong post. i just get so into it. lol

Peace Out,
Lawson
