Default BOV vs. bypass valve

I am really looking into a s/c and wanted to know if a bypass valve was really much better than a BOV as eveyone says they are. I am only going to be running about 6psi and I really love the sound of a big BOV. Call me a ricer lover but I just love that sound. If someone could help me out that would be awesome. also what do you think about paxton s/c compared to a vortech?

Yeah I dont think anyone in the world knows... I've been trying to find out if I can use a bov with my set up ..

Here is what I do know...

I bypass valve stays open at idle and any time the car is making enough vacuum to hold it open.

A blow off valve stays closed untill a certain amount of boost is reached then opens.

To blow etiher off into the air you have to have a blow through maf

the only thing I dont understand is why in the world you would want to spend another $300-$400 for a different MAF just for a different sound...

OP he's deciding between the BOV or bypass....

Yourquestion shouldn't need to be asked anyway, why would someone spend money to change a wing, rims, ect. its the same concept.

very well put Iraziel. Never thought of it like that. I am definatly going to go with a BOV. I saw my buddy today with his corvette with a BOV on it and he let me drive it alittle to see how I would like the sound and every shift I almost cremed my pants.
