nitrous gurus...
ok guys with the 4.6 99-04 mustangs running juice..and who have been for awhile
need to know...what timing you have for 100 shot and do u change it running NA or just leave it and try and keep bottle filled...and running NA with the nitrous timing..do u think u run slower NA than u did with normal timing....im confused bout what timing n **** i should be running

no experience w/ the 4.6 cars but....
if it helps at all, i run 12* and sometimes 14* if it's cool out w/ 80 jets on 92+ octane
i will run 12* and 89 octane if it's under 75* and good air
i use stock plugs closed down about .010" (.042" for me)
the best way to test is to do it at the track...start off safe (your car will perfectly safe w/ 10* 92 octane, and stockers gapped at .040" i'm sure) assuming your stock plug gap is also .052"
run it hard and record your info, bump the timing 2* and run it again, read the plugs look at your mph and see if it went up. if yes, your better. if no back it back off to where your highest mph was, don't bother w/ ET, mph is where the HP is made, and if you make more....your not detonating.
just remember until you get really used to the kit...what worked in the spring when it was 70* and cool out might melt something in august when it's 85% humidity and95*

you retard it to 10* advanced (about 2* for 100 hp from wherever you are are NA)
yes you could retard it to 10* retard, but it would be way phat
you want lean for better performance, just not too lean....the more octane, the lower timing, the colder plugs, the smaller plug gaps all phatten it up, and also slow it way down.
you want to be as safe as you NEED to be
power tuning it at the track (or a dyno if you happen to $hit money) is the best way to do that.

I always used the rule of thumb 1* for every 50, I used a 150 and 100, with nx plate kit. with 2* retard and ngk tr6 plugs 1 step colder, gauge on the bottle, and pedal to the floor. Never had any issues. I still have the kit if you know anyone looking for a great nx setup. I moved up a few steps and got a procharger. And havent looked back. The kit is only about 2 months old.
