New Headers and Exhaust
Hello everyone. I have a 04 GT and would appreciate some input on modifying my exhaust, I know very little about cars so I figured I’d ask the pros. I read through some of the other posts in this section and it looks like a lot of people here really know what they’re talking about. I would like to get headers and exhaust, looking to redo the whole thing from beginning to end. The only issue is that I live in NY so I would also need to get something that will still pass inspection. Any suggestions, your input is greatly appreciated.
make sure you don't have emissions testing, which i think you do, you'll have to get shorties which aren't really worth it for the price you pay for them + install. get a new midpipe and a new catback. research the forums and find the exhaust that best suits your needs. i'm an SLP lover so i'm going to tell you to get some Loudmouths or Loudmouth 2s (loud and really deep). midpipes, if you want your car to idle nice, loud & deep below 3k rpm, get a new H. if you want it to idle more mellow and scream above 3k rpm, get an X.
Once again...same thing i tell everyone..BASSANI!! i can already predict what peeps are gonna say..."oh there expensive"..."oh the SLP is louder"...I DONT CARE. Once you put Bassani on your car...nothing else matters. Put a full system. And i would suggest the Bassani Street PErformance pacakge...it is what i have. The quiet thunder isnt loud enuff for me and i think the racing pacakage...well im not sure about that one. But the Bassani systems are legal in all 50 states and dont affect Emissions.
I agree, BASSANI!!!! I am abotu to buy mine just tryin to decide on which X-pipe to rock with, Dr. Gas, or Bassani's. I have an '04 as well and i just put my MAC intake on and let me tell you, what a difference from stock, YOU WILL NOTICE. I suggest spending the 160 to get the intake as well with the exhaust....
