headers
Are headers a worthy upgrade to a relatively stock 4.6? At this point (having owned the car for a week) I have only replaced the intake. If headers are a worthy upgrade over stock which type would be the best overall configuration as I have seen long tube headers shorty headers & stubs. What's the differnce other than length? Thanks!
shorty headers are for looks only and offer no power , you want LONG TUBE, headers are deff gonna get you some more power to the ground. I would guess 20 hp more average. well worth it , but they can be costly. The type of metal the headers are made of has an effect on the sound of the car i have been told. I would recomend a name brand header like Magnaflow or Hooker. They have diff shapes to them. 4 - 2 -1 means it goes from 4 pipes to 2 pipes to 1 pipe. I guess that covers headers , someone should post and cover it more and add there own two cents.

From what I have read... cobra owners are having some nasty issues wit MAC and BBK headers. I plan on getting Hooker long tubes and X pipe within a month and install them on my 02GT. With hooker, you can still work on the tranny, clutch without remove the longtube header first. BBK, MAC and some others, you have to loosen or remove the header to get to the tranny/clutch.
