Default Nitrous kit?

I have a 347 in my 1995 gt thats making 415 rear wheel horsepower and 475 rear wheel torque naturally aspirated. I want to get a nitrous kit and a chip. I already know I;m getting the reprogrammable pro-m chip. I am just not sure whether i would be better off with a 125 zex kit, or a plate system from NX for my edelbrock rpm intake manifold. I know the chip will definately free at least 20-30 horsepower since I have high flowing ported heads and an extremely radical dual pattern custom ground cam. The timing curve is no where near stock. I would be happy to run low 10s on street tires. Which kit would suit me better.

I would put a 175 shot using a msd system and also using a progessive tuning on the nitrous as far as a chip..maybe go with a diablo for the nitrous but you can't with a progressive set up...could use a pms or tweecer rt or f.a.s.t. putting a 1 sec delay on the nitrous will help with traction issues..this is all of coarse if the engine is built for it..do you have o-ring heads????

The zex kit is avery simple install about (2 hours) and can go over 125h.p. Call their Tech support and tell them what h.p. level you want and they will give the #'s as to what jets to run on the fuel and nitrous side. They just don't list thier kits above 125 because they say their kits are designedfor stock engines and stock fuel systems. They will highly reccomend additional fuel (injectors, pump, etc.) for a bigger shot.

The Zex kit rates their shot at the crank instead of at the wheel. It's an esay install and a little cheaper, but I would go with the NX kit. This kit is rated at the wheels, and their nozzles come with a warrenty. Maybe you could even go with the Edelbrock kit. They have a bad painted 12.5 gallon tank and they are not too expensive.

If you used a 125 shot from Nitrous Exptress, on two identical mustangs, one a 5- speed and the other an automatic it will still put 125 more to the rear wheels on both? Wouldn't thier be more h.p. lost thru the powertrain on the the auto then the 5-speed? Howdo they claim thier h.p. numbers are the same on every car?

That's vary true. But if you put a say 150 shot of zex and nx on the same car,you will get more out of the shot of nx. Thats one of the main reasons that most zex kits start with a 50 shot nozzel, and nx starts with a 35 nozzel (well thats what Iv been herd).

In any case, in my opinion Id still go with the nx kit. Good luck with what ever you do. Dont forget that with the nitrous you may need a better ignition and some plugs a couple degrees cooler. Good Luck

I prefer the NOS bigshot plate kits. More direct route to the combustion chamber. I'd be a little careful using a wet kit on the edelbrock intakes. They tend to puddle up more than others........trust me. I have whats left of mine in the garage still from when it backfired.
