keep the 36s or get 42s????
Here's my dilemma, I picked up a NICE set of new, 4 hole, 14ohm, 36lb injectors for nearly nothing. I've got a 1992 Mustang 5.0 and here's the modification list
Motor:
-Novi 1000 supercharger
-AFM powerpipe
-F150 351 crank pulley (slightly larger than stock, worth a pound or two of boost for a couple dollars)
-Pro-M 75mm MAF
-BBK 70mm Throttle Body
-TrickFlow Street Heat upper and lower intake manifolds
-TrickFlow Stage 1 Camshaft
-TrickFlow Valve Spring Upgrade Kit
-Summit Racing Timing Chain and Gears
-Ford Racing Hydraulic Roller Lifters
-Kirban Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
-3G alternator conversion
-MSD cap/rotor
-Taylor Spiro-Pro plug wires
-MSD Blaster TFI coil
-Autolite 24s
-3 row radiator
-Walbro 255lph fuel pump
-Paxton FMU
Exhaust:
-MAC 1 5/8" unequal length shorty headers
-MAC 2.5" off road h-pipe
-MAC 2.5" Flowpath catback with 3" tips
Drive Train/Transmission:
-Custom Built Edge Racing 3000 rpm torque converter
-B&M transmission cooler
-Baumann AOD ReCal kit w/ sonnex boost valve (hard shifts, shift points set at 5500 rpms)
-Bronze TV cable bushing
-B&M transmission cooler
-3.90 gears
Suspension:
-Strange Engineering 10 way adjustable shocks and struts
-Maximum Motorsports XL series full length subframes
-Summit upper/lower rear control arms
-Ford Racing Performance Parts C springs in the rear
-Eibach drag springs in the front
-Removed front swaybay (saves weight and increases weight transfer during the launch)
-Nitto 555r drag radials (245/50/16's)
Interior:
-Hunsaker Vinyl Synkros in Black Vinyl (seats)
Other Accessories:
-Autometer A-pillar dual gauge pod
-Autometer Ultra Lite Vac/Boost gauge
-Autometer Ultra Lite 100-250 degree water temp gauge
I'm pushing 6 psi of boost as of right now. I'm thinking about upgrading to my 8" pulley which will put me at around 10lbs of boost sometime in the future. What I'm wondering is if I should get rid of these 36lb injectors and invest in 42s for the long run. Or will these 36s keep up with around 10 lbs of boost in the future. I don't plan on adding heads or any other power adder anytime soon. I'd really like to hold onto the 36lb injectors if at all possible, but I don't think that they'll deliver the fuel that I will need.

yes, they should be ok.. youl be getting close to needing new ones, but they should not be a problem, judging from your mods you not going to need that much boost to max your internals out anyway. But im just saying, if you upgrade... UPGRADE and get 60's
Awesome, I'll just hang on to these then. Now all I need is to getmy MAF recal'd and get ahold of a tweecer r/t or AFM PMS. I can't wait until I get my taxes back! haha.
i agree stick with the 36's for now, i dont see heads on your mod list so i assume their still E7's so you will be fine with the 36's nowat 10lb especiallywith the FMUand save the 42's for later. As long as the car runs good now i wouldnt mess around with having to get a new MAF or having it tuned
just keep the 36s. it isn't how much boost injectors support, but how much power. i was able to hold 467RWHP with my 36s, they were maxed out, but it's more than plenty for how much you'll be running.
