Default Injector size ??

I was talking to the guy who is going to be tuning my car after I install the turbo. He recommended 42 lbs/hr injectors for the set up I was looking at. My question is I plan on having the engine rebuilt next year with all forged parts and was wondering if the 42s would be able to handle about 500whp? For right now the kit is intercooled and has a 70mm turbo that I will be running at 6-7 psi. I told the tuner my plans of upping the boost after I have the bottom end ready to handle it. He said that the 42s should be able to handle my power goals. The thing that kind of threw me off was the "should be" part. I want to get the right injector and MAF combo the first time so would the 42s handle my plans or should I go bigger?

For 500 hp at the crank you probably want to go with 60# per hour injectors.

42s should handle 500RWHP, they'd be pretty maxed out though. i had 36lbs injectors pushing 467RWHP, but they were pretty much at their max duty cycle.

Look at it this way, if you buy 42lbs injectors, you will be out of injector before too long and be buying something bigger anyway. I recommend going straight to 60s, that way your fuel system will be maxed before the injectors and the price difference is so minimal, it makes sense. Plus, the 60s are probably the best “bigger†injector for idle and drivability.

So for a lets say 475-500 whp set up I should go right to 60 lbs/hr, but they would also work fine at about 400-425 whp for the time being?
