Default s/c tuning help

I finished installing my vortech on my 2000 mustang today. Its a vortech v2 sq kit with 38lb injectors, I have the stock MAF sensor, when I started it it sounded like crap with the diablosport tuner (I retarded the timing alot) so I restored the factory tune and it sounded alot better but it wont idle, I think its because the 38lb injestors, stock program, and stock MAF. My plan was to install the kit and dyno tune it with the diablo predator and not use the vortech chip but you can't ajust the fuel below 2000rpm on the tuner, is there a way to download a custom tune that will atleast run so I can dyno it? any help or suggestions would be geartly appreciated. thanks

you need to take it to a shop and have the tune it before you blow your motor

I'm going to send the ecu to vortech today and they will put there tune in it. I'll leave it like that until I put an intercooler and smaller pulley then I'll get it retuned probally buy SCT and sell my diablosport

I would use the vortech supplied chip and just use that to get to the shop, then have it tuned with your predator. You can probably get away with taking your predator to the shop you are gonna be getting the dyno tune through and have them load you a tune just to get you to the shop, but why not just use the supplied vortech tune? They will both do the job of getting you to the dyno safely and it will be much less of a hassle.

the predator is limited compared to the sct xcal. I would have to send the computer to vortech and wait for them to send it back to me I am going to get the sct tuner, sell my predator and I will have it tuned on wednesday. Besides, I think I will get a little more power from the dyno tune vs the vortech tune. I think theres would be a little conservitive since they send it to everyone, plus I'm going to get a intercooler and change pulley to 3.33" should be about 11lbs and I'll have to retune it anyways.

don't do that. somebody was posting in the 4.6 General section that sent their ecu to vortech. he blew his motor and was asking who's fault it was, the shop, vortech, or his own fault. if you got WOT with that canned tune without looking at your AF, you're going to lean out and blow your motor.

I found someone to load a tune in my predator. which will save me money on buying a sct which is what most places use. i dint send the ecu to vortech. the guy didnt want to load the file in the predator because i didnt have the model# so I emailed him all my info so he could set it up, he said he can email it to me but I dont have the cable or power supply so Im just going to go back there on wednesday and hell put it in my predaator. there is a new shop about 2 blocks from my work they only want $90 an hour to tune it and should be able to get the car in there on wednesday. I havent even drove the car yet but Im getting anxious

+1 just have your car towed to a performance shop so they can dyno tune and be done with it. You do not need the Vortech tune. Find out what shops in your area require what software first before you do anything.
