Default Check Engine Light

I drive a 2002 GT. I installed BBK Long Tube Headers, BBK O/R H-pipe, and American Thunder Flowmaster Cat-Backs. Now I got this Check Engine Light that will not go off. When hard shifting my buddy says he sees black smoke puff slightly during shifting indicating it is running rich. Can this be from the exhaust and the check engine light. I was thinking I need to chip it or something. Everything else is stock including intake.

yeah mil eliminators will trick the computer to thinking you have cats and it will keep your check engine from coming on.

My "mil eliminators" consist of detatching the battery every couple days....
